Petersburg Half Marathon

Terrain: The Petersburg Half Marathon features 13.1 of scenery! Petersburg is located in Central Virginia with close proximity to Richmond. if you've seen the movie "Lincoln" starring Daniel Day Lewis, then you've seen Petersburg - the movie was filmed there.



The Half course was designed to capture the historical aspects of hte city & surrounding areas. The start & Finish take place in the historical downtown by the Union Train Station. Runners make their way through the streets lined with shops & B&Bs before heading out toward the Petersburg National Battlefield, the site of battles in the Revolution AND Civil Wars.



During your run through the Battlefield you will be able to witness battle re-enactments taking place; actors will be using muskets to create the sights and sounds of a real battle! Join for a uniqu event that is sure to delivery lasting memories. All NIRCA athletes are welcome!

Spikes are not recommended.

Hotel information:
Big news! Any athletes staying at NIRCA official event hotels will receive a free 3-day ticket to local amusement and water park, Kings Dominion. This is a $120 value per person, and a great way to spend your downtime or time before/after the event!

Other information:
The NIRCA Half Championship is a partnership with the Petersburg Half Marathon. Athletes participating in the NIRCA Half Marathon National Championship must register on clubrunning.org to be considered part of a NIRCA team. NIRCA athletes are not eligible for awards or prizes available to the general public.

Ineligible athletes, spectators, and supporters may participate in the races by registering at the race website and will be considered general public participants/not NIRCA teams.



TEAM PACKET PICKUP:
Team half marathon packets can be picked up on Saturday starting at 5:45am at Union Station at 103 River Street in Petersburg.

WEATHER:
In the case of inclement weather prior to the event, if postponed by more than 30 minutes due to weather and unsafe conditions for athletes, the event could be cancelled without the possibility for rescheduling.
