Ben Bartley

Executive Director

Bartley is responsible for overseeing all operations of NIRCA, as well as his responsibility for NIRCA merchandise and apparel and working with running related sponsors. Ben graduated from Indiana University in April 2006 with his bachelors in math education. After joining the Council in November 2006, he started the Indiana Running Company, a running specialty store in Bloomington (IN).

Ben was a walk-on in track for Indiana University before founding the IU Run Club. He has run sub 16 in the 5k and 2:45 for the marathon. He recently finished his first iron-distance triathlon and will next tackle the 50 mile distanced ultramarathon.


Tommy Otterbine

Finance Director

Tommy oversees all of NIRCA's finances and serves in a consulting role for all aspects of the organization. As a founding member of NIRCA, he coordinated the first NIRCA National Championship in 2006.

Tommy graduated from the Penn State University in May 2007 with his bachelors degree in microbiology. He is previously the president of the PSU club cross country team. Tommy is currently the Club Sports Coordinator at the Penn State University.


Jeremy Brown

Membership, Development Director

A founding NIRCA Council member, Jeremy is responsible for working with individual runners and universities that wish to start running clubs. He also looks after the day-to-day management of club officers and annual membership process. He is also the author of NIRCA's constitution.

Jeremy holds Masters of Urban Design and a Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from Ball State University. While at Ball State, Jeremy was a founding member of the Ball State Runners Association and ran the first intercollegiate club race, the MC5. He has run the Indianapolis Mini Marathon every year since the 6th grade!


Julia Stulock

Membership, Special Events Director

Stulock is responsible for overseeing all special events, alumni events and the Winter Conference. Julia graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a Masters degree in Sport Management at the University of Connecticut. She competed in NIRCA races for 4 years while at UMD and UConn.

Julia is one of the co-founders of NIRCA who attended the first conference in May 2006. She now works as the Sport Clubs Coordinator at Florida Gulf Coast University. She holds a 5K PR of 21:19 and was also the women's distance coach for the Canton High School (Canton, MI) track team for two years.


Stephanie Bartley

Event Director

Stephanie graduated from The Ohio State University in March 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Stephanie serves as the NIRCA Events Coordinator, where she oversees all race management and implementation of the Championship Series. She was the host of the first NIRCA conference at OSU in May, 2006.

Stephanie runs half-marathons and marathons and has qualified for Boston in 2008 and 2011. She finished her first marathon in 3:18.


Ben Thomas

Brand and Technology Director

Ben is responsible for developing and designing NIRCA's identity as well as its information technology. He maintains the website, the print documents, and coordinates and manages the way in which NIRCA communicates with runners, clubs, and the running community as a whole.

Ben holds a Masters of the Built Environment in Sustainable Development from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. He also holds a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Ben's PR for a 5k is 17:32, but prefers longer distance half-marathon and marathon races. He is a former president with Ball State and was the Race Director for the second and third MC5.


Greg Haapala

Sponsorship Director

Greg focuses on establishing partnerships with businesses and organizations that share NIRCA's passion for enhancing collegiate club running. A co-founder of NIRCA, he works with both national partners of the Association and local event sponsors.

Greg holds a B.A. in sport management from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and works full-time as the Director of Ticket Sales and Fan Experience at the University of Detroit Mercy. While an undergraduate member of the UM Running Club, he served as the events and race coordinator.


Jaclyn Caccese

Race Management Coordinator

Jaclyn coordinates NIRCA's race management, primarily the fall cross country season. She is a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in bioengineering. She is the past president of the Penn Running Club and has completed several marathons, including NYC and Boston.


Dave Chen

Membership, Communication Coordinator

Dave coordinates many of the engagement and membership strategies for NIRCA. Dave graduated from Penn State in May 2011 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he was the President of PSU Club XC. He has been running since 8th grade and is currently focusing on competing in half-marathons.
